How my Ford GT40 MKIV Replica is made

A milestone in motorsport history – reinterpreted

Welcome to my journey to the Ford GT40 MKIV

Since 2018 I have been on a unique journey – building my own Ford GT40 MKIV. What began as a dream is now a living project that I am sharing with you here. Join me on my journey through the planning, design and build of one of the most iconic racing cars in history.

The story behind my Ford GT40 MKIV project

The Ford GT40 MKIV has fascinated me since my childhood. It was the first model car I got from my father and the enthusiasm for the 24h race in Le Mans in the 60/70s was the trigger for it. In 2018 I started building my own GT40 MKIV and this blog documents every step of this project. Here I would like to share my experiences, challenges and my passion for this project with you.

Why the GT40 MKIV

It was always clear to me that I would have to build my own Ford GT40 MKIV as a racing car at some point. Not just because of its history, but because of the shape, the technology and the passion that this car embodies. My aim is to create my own, slightly more modern version as a replica – a car that not only brings a piece of motorsport history to life in the garage, but also on the racetrack.

The journey continues

I regularly document the progress of my project here on my blog. From the first draft to the final touches – every step is recorded so that you can follow my experiences. Check back regularly to see how the Ford GT40 MKIV goes from a vision to a real race car
“The true beauty of a project lies not in its completion, but in the dedication and pursuit of perfection along the way.”
